Thailand Missionary Post

Over the past few years, we've been praying and searching for more opportunities for Expat Homes to partner with the local Thai church. Our pastor friend Pai (pronounced "pie") has been such an answer to that prayer.

Two years ago, we helped build a toilet in a rural village for a former witch doctor who had recently decided to follow Jesus. Since that trip, a pastor named Kitti and his new wife moved to minister to the few believers in that village. At the same time, Pai has been working with a foundation to build a church building on some land donated by one of the villagers.

So when we called Pai last month to ask how Expat Homes could help, it was so funny when he said, "We need another toilet." So we helped build a small outhouse for Pastor Kitti's new home next to the new church. It felt especially significant this is all being built on land that was previously used by the village for animistic spirit worship. Our staff and families had a great day serving and being served by the local believers there.

To cap it all off, we went back to the village a few weeks later to dedicate Pastor Kitti's house. We prayed over his home, sang songs, and ate Thai BBQ.
