Germany Missionary Update

Prayer Needs

Zechariah, a holy and devoted man, was about to get the surprise of a lifetime while performing his priestly duties, preparing the customary offering of incense inside the temple. An angel of the Lord declares to him: God has heard your prayers and you will soon have your first child – a son! Mind you, this was a man and wife, well past child-bearing years who had been infertile until this time. The origin story of John the Baptist has so many interesting sidebars, but the most intriguing to me is a small, detailed phrase found in verse 10.

“The whole multitude of the people were in prayer outside at the hour of the incense offering. And an angel of the Lord appeared to him.” Luke 1:10-11

Did you catch the detail? A large gathering of people was vigilant “in prayer outside” while Zechariah went about his duties inside the temple. The mention of this involvement and intermingling of parties in prayer is no mere coincidence nor meant to be contained to this ancient event in Scripture. We are stronger together – each person doing their part, both serving, one at work while the other is praying.

Our family travels to Germany July 11th – 31st to say our good-goodbyes, pack up our home, and return to the states for the final time. We need the heartfelt intercession of a Prayer Team to create an incubator to help shape a protective environment for which the enemy cannot penetrate our vulnerabilities. A cocoon where our attention can more fully be maintained in its focus on Him, on the freedom of doing hard emotional and physical work, and on hearing Him speak to us in the midst of it. We urgently need fervent petitions of prayer from those who want God’s best for us and to help usher in and facilitate many holy moments and experiences within these 20 days.

Prayer Team
Nate and I will share with this team our intentional prayer needs, our vulnerable hearts, and in-the-moment accounts of what God is doing during those 20 days. The communication pattern will be organic via email but will start with us sharing the God-inspired prayer theme from Psalm 131. In this way, we will succeed together and eagerly await the time when the roles reverse again and we can continue to pray intentionally for you.

Sincerely,
Brittany and Nate

Prayer for one?
Sometimes the Lord impresses upon us to pray for a specific person. Below are photos for each member of our family. If you would like to pray for one of us specifically please click their photo. We will send you an email with their targeted needs.

  • Will Graduated Cum Laude with Honors and his seal of Bi-Literacy in May.
  • Brittany had an incredible afternoon sharing God's story at the Westhaven Women's Bible Study. She has been asked to join them in November to teach four weeks.
  • Nate continues to sit at our kitchen table, every morning, to read God's word and ponder His leading of our family and ministry.
  • Emerson's best friend and his family came to visit us in Nashville in April. They had never been to church and said of ours after attending an Easter Service, "Wow, that left an impression!" Please pray for them to encounter more "impressions."
  • Sadie has really taken to the school's orchestra program. We hope she will follow in her daddy's steps and work to join the worship team someday!
