England Missionary Update
Missions Team,
Next week will be one of our most important weeks of our year. New students will be coming to London to begin University. We are excited for the possibilities that the new semester holds! We need your prayers as we trust God to do what we are unable to do on our own, change hearts. Mandy and I want to thank you for partnering with us and let you know that you are having a significant impact in the lives of many students around the world as they come to London to study.
New Ministry Opportunity
God has been opening new doors for ministry. A new ministry area we are exploring is the private student accommodation around City University. Unlike traditional college campuses in the US, City University is a commuter campus without dorms. This can make regular contact with students challenging. Would you join us in praying for God to open doors at the following student accommodations: Romano Court, Arbour House, and Cross Court. The general manager of these three accommodations has expressed an eagerness to partner with us in caring for university students. She has invited us to help with move-in day tomorrow! Please pray as we help students move in tomorrow (Saturday). Pray that we would meet students that God is working in and that they would come to know Jesus this year.
Freshers Week
Freshers week is the week before classes start when all the college freshmen come to campus. Many of these first year students are away from home for the first time and are eager to build friendships. Pray for our staff as we spend each day next week meeting new students. Pray for divine appointments and that some of the students we meet during Freshers Week would become Christians this year.
August Staff Conference
Each August we spend a week in the Peak District with the other CO staff in the UK. This includes Birmingham and Edinburgh. What an encouragement it is to be with these men and women who are giving their lives to share Jesus with the nations. It was a refreshing week outside the busy city of London to invest in our relationship with God as well as one another. Our London staff team had a great time discussing our team culture, evangelism strategy and partnership with the local church. We were refreshed in our vision for the fall semester!
New Staff Team
We have added two new staff to our team! Meet Garrett and Anna. Garrett arrived mid August and Anna arrived mid September. Praise God for bringing them to London. Anytime you add a new person to a team it essentially becomes a new team. Please pray for continued team unity and a desire to serve one another sacrificially. Our theme verse for the fall is John 13:34-35 where Jesus says “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” Please be praying this with us and for us.
Family Update
Our children started back at school the first week of September. They have all done an amazing job transitioning to their new grades. This is William’s first year at secondary school. He now has a new school and has multiple classes each day. He has done an outstanding job but please pray for him during this time of making new friends and getting familiar with a whole new environment.
