North African Missionary Update

"'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. '"
Jeremiah 29:11

First of all we hope you had an excellent Thanksgiving!

Since our last letter in August many things have happened. Carol and Thomas went through programmed surgeries in September. Thomas is fully healed, Carol unfortunately had some complications. The surgery was more extensive than they had planed, but by the Glory of God now she is doing better. She needs to continue her physiotherapy treatment for the next 2 to 3 months to be fully healed. I planned to do my surgery in January, but I had a crisis and had to do an emergency surgery two weeks ago. I been recovering well and expect tp be fully healed in 6 weeks.

Thomas finished his homeschooling classes for the semester and had an excellent academic development. Still we felt the need for him to interact more with other kids. We know that in God's time Thomas will be able to have good friendships and school life. We are grateful for the opportunities to spend time with kids from the church and our family.

This was a crucial time for our emotional recovery. We were able to deal with our grief and completely give it to the Lord. Even though we still miss being there it doesn't hurt as much. In this process we are able to dream again. We feel strongly that our calling hasn't changed and that we are now ready to move forward to what He has in store for us.

As we looked into some opportunities to serve. After praying, fasting, talking with our leadership and mentors. We seen the Lord open a door for a new project. Next week we will be traveling for one week to a North Africa country for a vision trip. We are excited in how strategic this location is for pioneering projects in the region, beside having multiple opportunities for us there.

Please be praying for our visit. This will be our first experience in a muslim country after the crisis, we need to see how we will feel about this. Please pray for direction and discernment from the Lord for how He wants to use us in this new stage. Pray for open doors with local people and a productive time there.
