Mission & Vision

WHAT KIND OF DISCIPLES ARE WE MAKING?

“We seek to make disciples that discover their IDENTITY in Jesus, live out UNITY with each other,
and serve in MINISTRY to the world.”

identity

The beginning of the journey with Jesus is receiving a new identity – one in Jesus.

Scripture speaks of this like getting a “new heart” (Ezk 36:26-27), being “born again”(John 3:1-21), becoming a “new creation” (2 Cor 5:17), being adopted into God’s family (Eph 1:5, 1 John 3:1) and being found “in Him” (Gal 3:26-28).

UNITY

Receiving a new identity in Jesus puts you into a new family that is characterized by unity.

Scripture tells us that Jesus’ plan and prayer for believers is unity. He tell us that “everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:34-35). He prays that we “may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you have sent me.” (John 17:20-23). The call for this unity extends throughout the New Testament in passages such as Phil 2:1-2, Col 3:14, Romans 5:5-7, and Eph 4:1-6.

MINISTRY

A privilege and responsibility of being in this new family – is a desire to minister to our world - in word and deed.

Scripture tells us that Jesus came to serve and not be served – and we are to do the same (Matt 22:24-27). We have become a priesthood (1 Peter 2:9, Rev 5:9-10), who has been given a great commission (Matt 28:18-20) to draw other to Jesus by our words (1 Peter 3:15) and actions (James 1:27).
