Speak Life
Feb 15, 2026 • Bishop Steven Arnold
Words possess incredible power to either build up or tear down relationships. Jesus taught that our words reveal what's truly in our hearts, and they shape the atmosphere of our homes and communities. Careless words cut deep and leave lasting scars, while life-giving words build identity, create safety, and invite God's presence. To control our speech spiritually, we must be quick to listen and slow to speak, filtering our words through truth, necessity, and love. Self-control in speech demonstrates spiritual maturity and creates the foundation for healthy relationships where people feel safe and valued.
