The Good King Has Come

Jesus' most famous message was simple yet revolutionary: repent and believe the good news. Unlike good advice that tells us what to do, this is good news about what God has already accomplished. The kingdom of God has come near through a perfect King who never sins and always acts in love. This King requires surrender - not just of our obvious sins, but also of our attempts to earn God's favor through good works. Jesus proved His trustworthiness by dying for our sins and rising from the dead, demonstrating that He is the one authority figure who will never let us down.
