Beginning a New Year

Jesus extends a powerful invitation to all who are weary and burdened: Come to me and I will give you rest. This isn't about self-improvement or trying harder, but about accepting His offer to exchange our heavy burdens for His easy yoke. When Jesus describes Himself as gentle and humble in heart, He's revealing that the pace of our lives will match the heart of our master. His yoke is easy because it's tailor-made for us, and His burden is light because He is stronger. Jesus took our heaviest burden on the cross so we could receive His lightest gift - true rest for our souls.
